Instagram Page Insights

💪 Difficulty: medium

Time to complete: approx. 2 minutes (if you have your Instagram connected to your FB page)

💬 Description

Many modern organisations used Instagram to share organic content with their follower audience. Note that this Connector extracts data from organic posts on Instagram - not ads. If you’re looking for Instragram Ads, this is the connector you need. We can extract almost everything from Instragram Pages incl. post performance, engagements, impressions, reactions and more.

🤑 Use Case

Can be used to track organic marketing performance and consolidate information if used with other Connectors (like Facebook Page Insights). Its also helpful to understand marketing post differences between paid and organic channels if used with other Connector (like Mailchimp, Facebook Ads Insights and LinkedIn Ads).

🛠️ Setup

Connecting to Instagram Page Insights is fairly simple if you already have your Instagram Account connected to your Facebook Page - if not there is a couple of extra steps needed which is described here: Add or remove an Instagram account from your Facebook Page

Step #1: Authenticate with Facebook

After clicking Connect to Instagram Page Insights on Less you will be redirected to authenticate via Facebook.

Step #2: Choose Instagram Page

Select which Instagram page you want to extract data from. Before moving on, please see step 3 below

Step #3: Copy your Instagram Page ID

You need to copy your Instagram Page ID and paste it into the Less Connector configuration. The easiest way to copy it is from the window below. The ID you’re looking for is the one that begins with 1784 below. Note that ours start with 1787 - yours might be completely different.

Step #4: Choose Page

Check the Page you want to extract data from.

Step #5: Validate Less

Choose the following configuration and press “Done” to allow Less to extract data from Instagram.

Step #6: Insert Page ID and select the number of days to sync

After clicking “Allow” you’ll be redirected back to Less. Paste the Page ID from Step 3 and the select number of days to synchronize. If you input 365, we’ll extract a running 365 days daily. So on Jan 1st, 2000 we’ll extract data from Jan 1st, 1999 - Jan 1st, 2000. The next day, we’ll extract from Jan 2nd, 1999 - Jan 2nd, 2000. You get the point...
